Do More...

So waking up this morning was fantastic! I felt like I had been wrung out to dry by last nights WOD but that feeling is always welcomed when you know where it came from. From gut wrenching rounds of craziness;)

But also because today I get to work from home. New carpets being put into the office, whoop whoop! So spending the day with my hound and attempting to look like I am working. I also have a big college project which is concept and wire-framing an app that I have chosen!
More about that another day...

Today is about doing more... I walked up through Freshwater (a gorgeous little beach suburb near where I live) and picked up a coffee at Cruise Espresso, the cup has a stamp that reads: Do More of what makes you happy... Well ok then, I will try! But do we? Or do we just settle back into what's comfortable all the time. Even though comfortable isn't actually making us happy, yet that's where we seem to find ourselves day in and day out! I believe so strongly in this saying and I always seem to know that the "doing more" is often the basic stuff. Happiness is in the simplicities of life. For me it's spending quality time with my hubby Mr. RM, watching my hound, Zola and find that next awesome double shot latte! I know that any form of exercise especially yoga, Crossfit and water-based stuff makes me really giddy, so why can't I find the time to do more of those. They are all so basic to achieve...

We need to look beyond the comfortable cr@p we find ourselves always going back to and break out for brief moments at a time while we figure it all out!

Get me out of here...

"It's just one of those days, when you don't wanna wake up, everything is ****ed, everybody sux..." Well, Limp Bizkit couldn't have said it better!

I really am stumbling through this mortal coil wondering what it is all about. I'm not sure if it is an age thing or actually is a problem with a person like me who wants more out of life! I honestly believe there is more. It's not that I want more money or material goodies to add to the teensy tiny rental apartment I find myself currently living in with my dear sweet hubby, Mr. RM and gorgeous hound, Zola. I want more quality, I want more living. I know how easily it can be taken away so why do we put ourselves through this dribble.

Background:
I am the type who has come to the conclusion after trying many many a venture in the corporate/office job world that there absolutely is more to life than this. Scattered in between these roles has been plenty of study trying to figure out what it is that I am good at or should be doing.

I have through all this time decided that I need to stop beating myself up about it but how? Is it time to stop thinking that I am a consistent failure (as the rest of the a lot do) and start seeing myself as possibly someone who really believes there is a better way!
I want to make a difference, I have big ideas and I have a huge moral code that is desperate to be used, why is it so hard to get out of this spiral of sadness and repeated "failures"?

Anybody out there got some inspiration?

The reason I wake up on Friday at 4:30!

After a week filled with early morning runs and late nights reading 50 Shades by myself while Mr. V is away gallivanting in Rural QLD. I come to a Friday morning which involves so much prep the night before to get to this point, I drag myself out of bed at 4:30 and dress in my costume and track pants to head out by 4:55. A core session to rip your belly up then in the pool for a quick 2km aerobic set! Afterwards feeling fantastic! This all leads to one thing - Nest, the absolute best breakfast spot in Brisbane, the poached eggs on sourdough are indescribable, I cannot figure out how the chef makes the eggs so creamy an the yellow oozes like caramel, it's sensational! This place is so cheap, chic and exceptional coffee! Cnr Edward & Leichardt in Spring Hill!

Signing out as I'm off to work, boo hoo! Rekuva-ry check;-)

Another Monday Morning

So yet another jam packed weekend flies by and I'm left with a Monday morning. I guess it had to happen, it happens every week. I never thought I would hate Mondays as much as I do these days! The morning is filled with dread and turmoil, the mad rush to look for 'better' unfulfilling jobs on seek, look for houses in other parts of the country, anything to get an out!

This morning K decided we should look into acreage instead of the 4 years that I have been requesting we move to Sydney! BAM, where did that come from?
This is not a bad option besides, hating gardening - A LOT. From a price perspective it's very much cheaper than Sydney & way more bang for your buck.

The biggest bonus is the opportunity it opens up for many many more trail runs & forest discovery. Which in turn allows for much more rekuvery coffees and meals to write about. Maybe even a yoga studio and an animal rekuvery centre?

Tell me reader have you been tossing & turning with turmoil of so many decisions? Have you yearned to live or be somewhere else for so long that you fear you may have missed what has been right in front of you all this time?

Spirited away...

After a wonderfully gruelling and fairly lengthy run through Samford, QLD. My husband and I headed North to Yandina, hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, to a very special place called Spirit House.

This place, tucked in amongst bamboo trees, thoughtfully placed wooden furniture, incense torches, an abundance of water dragons and a lush pond that the restaurant is wrapped around. The rain was pouring down like a monsoon but umbrellas were being passed between people leaving and people arriving. The warmth of the staff on arrival is so welcoming, this place is exceptional.

We decided after a flat one minute of menu browsing that the Chefs Selection Thai Banquet would be a very good choice, having previously experienced the deliciousness Spirit House has to offer, this menu included all our favourite options!

I asked for some advice on a white wine that would match the whole menu as we aren't big drinkers so matching wines to each course was not exactly what we were after. A Pinot Gris from Alsace, France was brought and matched each element of our menu perfectly.

Our meal started with a Coconut Soup of Salmon which arrived on a tray with little bowls of flaked salmon & micro herbs and a tea pot filled with 'to die for' coconut soup with lemongrass and chilli oil. This was followed by a piece of Smoked Tofu, surprisingly tasty. Our final starter course was the delicious Crispy Pork Belly topped with a Citrus Caramel sauce, food for the gods.

Main course was a combination of Yellow Duck Curry, Fresh Coconut & Watermelon Salad with a Curry Dressing, steamed Jasmine rice and the renowned Whole Crispy Fish which is a feast for all senses. It arrives standing up, facing you, a little confronting, but the Tamarind sauce is out of this world and the scored chunks of fish that fall off the bone are melt in the mouth sensational! It is an absolutely delightful dish.

Our meal concluded with a gorgeous Chocolate Creme Brûlée topped with Candied Chilli and a Gingerbread Ice Cream sandwich.

Of course we had to have a Latte, probably the least satisfying part of the meal, I do however think it was not such a good closing addition to the above meal, we live and we learn.

Our trip would not be complete without the purchase of their latest cookbook offering.

We left feeling truly rekuva'd...

So tell me, where have you been Spirited Away to recently?
